Trio Life! July 18, 2016
This past week has had a ton of miracles! One of the most exciting was meeting Joel. We got home from transfers and decided that we could go try some formers and potentials and not one of them was home. So we tried the last former that was on our list with the same results- they weren't home. As we were walking to our car to head to an appointment, we saw a man drive up into his driveway and although it was super awkward to stand on his driveway while we waited for him to park the car and get out, we did and were able to talk to this man named Joel! He has such a great understanding of prayer and how we really can gain a relationship with our Father in Heaven through it. He knows and LOVES the scriptures and allows Heavenly Father to guide and direct him through them. He's been humbled through life circumstances which has helped him to turn to God and gain these testimonies and has real intent in learning more
about the gospel of Jesus Christ. We had just gained Hermana Ryan in our trio and this was our first teaching opportunity together and the words flowed out of all of our mouths with such ease and balance it was incredible! We were able to teach and discuss with Joel rather than just presenting a lesson. What a huge testimony builder that was!

| The zone leaders brought us some cookies and they were baked with PRIDE. It became an on going joke between us. "Hermana, That's pride!" |
He also talked about what he thought about the past missionaries who had taught him and he said that the first missionaries were amazing and that they taught him a lot but the last ones would always get off topic and wouldn't share as much of a gospel message. Investigators KNOW our purpose many times and they can tell if we are serious about this work. It was a huge eye opener that if we are trying to be best buds with those we are teaching through worldly means, we're 1) not fulfilling our purpose and 2) we will pass by many people who have been prepared to accept the gospel but won't because of our lack of purpose in teaching them. However, if we teach them and have our purpose as our focus, we will become greater friends with those we teach, but we will also be fulfilling our purpose, God's purpose for us, AND help these prepared people to unlock the atonement in their lives! What greater joy in the work we will and can have!
One last quick miracle! We met Sarah last night while biking as well and she is so prepared to hear the gospel! She's had a rough life and just last night texted her dad and brother with the question and spiritual thought about how we each have a purpose in this life, but that she doesn't really know hers yet. She kept saying that she knows we met for a reason last night and we left her with a Plan of Salvation pamphlet that we will go over more this week with her! She texted us not even an hour later saying the same thing- I am so excited that I met you all tonight and I know God placed us in each others paths! There are so many prepared people here ready to receive the gospel!
As for Hermana Ryan and Hermana St. Clair, we are sure having fun together- perhaps too much fun! (: I'm learning so much from them and their testimonies and talents!
Con amor,
Hermana Nachelle Sharon Hunt (:
