Life Lessons are Being Learned (:‏

Mis amigos! Wow! This week was SO amazing! It has been such a growing experience and I'm finally beginning to see why I'm on a mission more and more. The past few emails from President Walkenhorst (so inspired), district meetings, other trainings, Hermana Gubler and exchanges with Hermana Johnson have really been helping me to see that I have so much that I am lacking in! And through Godly help, I've actually found the motivation to actually apply the Doctrine of Christ in my life. I'm learning so so so much! Hermana Quiroz teaching Hermana Gubler  how to cook refried beans! One of the things I've been learning and seeing is that if I expect and want to be able to help anyone change or accept the gospel, I need to be using the atonement to change and grow in my life first. I've been struggling with that this past transfer- the desire to want to change. I've been very content with where I'm at and at Food Bank, another missionary and I were talking...

Amigos! I just want to begin by saying yesterday we saw a huge miracle! 17 of our less-active members came to church! It definitely wasn't out of the work Hermana Gubler or I have done, but it was the best motivation to help me out. I felt SO excited and SO much joy to see all those families and members coming back to church- it was like I was on top of the world! I knew almost all of them and we have met with almost all of them- more or less- and to see them partaking of the sacrament and starting off this new year in the best way possible was the best. We know who else we can start working with in our less-active families though!   Hermana Escobar after the New Year's fiesta! We just love her! (: At the same time though, I saw these people at church changing (I realized this a few weeks ago but was reminded of it yesterday) that for them to change and come to church is such a di...

Hola amigos! Hermana Gubler is awesome! She is pushing me to work more and surprising me with how much drive she still has although she goes home soon and I'm super grateful for her! I know that she has her worries and concerns with going home but she isn't going to leave anything undone or unworked here before heading back! Props to Hermana Gubler! After biking one night after flash flood warnings all day  and pouring rain! Last Saturday! This past week with Christmas and all of the holiday things going on, we have been able to go caroling and visiting less-actives a ton and it's been so much fun spreading the Christmas cheer and love with everyone! It's been super great in those aspects! Also, the highlight of my week definitely was Christmas and skyping home with my family! I love them so much and it was great to be able to talk with them for an hour! I hope you all had a very beautiful Christmas as well! This past Saturday, it was POURING like crazy! Li...
