Has it really been 3 months ya??? Thursday, actually September 22, 2015

Mis amigos! Our area feels like it picking up finally and it exciting because we are working with two investigators who are really solid and that we have baptismal dates for October 24th. Ryan Taylor and Alex (the Guatemalan who we unfortunately don't have his last name yet) but neither of them have come to church, yet. Alex works everyday except Mondays and has tried asking his boss to get work off to go to church but she won't let him. Ryan, on the other hand, slept through our member knocking on his door to give him a ride. We are going to be teaching them next about the importance of coming to church though, and we will see what they will do to change this. The Relief Society President asked us this past week to come out with her and her counselors on splits every other Wednesday night to visit teach less active Sisters so that we can reactivate and strengthen the ward and visiting teaching program. This was such an exciting invite for her to extend to us because it show...

Mis amigos! This past week was fantastic! We have two new investigators who are SOLID and so prepared! I am so excited to continue working with them with Sister Christensen! Hermana Pine's last Sunday! EEK! One is Alex, who I think I actually told you about last week, he's a 22 year old Guatemalan that we met while at dinner at a Hibatchi grill/buffet with some members, Sister Chasteen, and her grandbaby, Emily. He works at the grill and so when I went to have my food cooked, he asked me where I was from and so it was perfect to lead into what I was doing here in Oklahoma! I told him about what I was doing here and he knew I was learning Spanish and he began talking to me in Spanish... I had no idea what he was saying! But I knew he wanted to learn more and so I got him a card with our number on it and we contacted him the following Monday since that's his only day off. We reminded him of church on Saturday night and said that he would need to find a new job to be a...

MIRACLES! (:‏ September 8, 2015

Familia! HUH! (Like on Mulan where it goes in the song "to defeat the huns! HUH!") This past week has been excellent! Being able to have exchanges with Sister Hamm has changed my outlook of my mission and those I serve around! She was able to give me some insight of her view of her mission and perhaps what others are thinking and it will help me to be more understanding of others perspectives for the future.  The Spirit taught me this last week the power in asking for miracles and the need to have faith in seeing them. When I was on exchanges with Sister Hamm, she taught me several fun tracting ideas such as "8:00 Miracle" (in every prayer that day we prayed to have a miracle at 8:00- it works if you have faith, and we did see a miracle), having a "power hour" with the members, "Obedience Walk" until 9pm (walk around until 9pm if you come in a few minutes early and talk to those who are out), and the fact that you don't have to knock o...

Friends and Familiy!! Just know that I love you all and that I'm doing so well! I was thinking yesterday about how there are so many different aspects to each of our spiritual developments and seriously was mind-blown! Food for thought: Think about spiritual development and it's application to all the covenants with God we have made. Think about temple work specifically. We are judged based on our knowledge. God expects from us to do what we have learned we need to do based on our understanding. The atonement will make up the difference as we seek Christ's help and strength to overcome and grow where we lack. Add Our Zone Temple day (we get one every 6 months).  I'm lucky to have had one in my first transfer! (: the sister  next to me is Sis. Brittney Heaton from Fredonia, AZ...  I think we may be related. Perhaps, primas? In Matthew 26:29 it says at the end "Nevertheless, not what I will, but as thou wilt." This has become my goal and I've se...
